Browser games often use familiar controls, but each title can implement them differently. Knowing the common patterns makes it easier to start playing without guessing.
Start with the game type
Arrow keys and WASD are common for movement. The mouse is often used for aiming, selecting objects or dragging items. Space is frequently used for jumping or a primary action, while Escape may open a pause menu or close an overlay.
Use the information on the page
On touch devices, look for visible buttons, tap targets, drag gestures and swipe controls. Some desktop-focused games may not be comfortable on a phone even when the page technically loads.
If a game does not work
Always read the controls or instructions shown on the game page before starting. If controls do not respond, try clicking the game first so it receives keyboard focus. If the problem continues, the third-party game provider may have changed or removed the title.
